Fujian Shishi Port Enterprises participated in passenger ship comprehensive oil spill drill

On the afternoon of January 8, the Nan'an Maritime Department organized and guided the passenger ship "Bafang" to conduct oil spill and emergency evacuation of passengers comprehensive drill. Through the cooperation among the maritime department, port service companies, passenger ships and cleanup units,the anti-pollution emergency response capability of the cleanup unit was tested, and the handling capacity and emergency rescue capability of passenger tank oil spill accidents were improved.
 
The drill accident was set up as follows: at 5:30 pm on the same day, a fuel oil leak occurred due to misoperation by the "Bafang" ship moored at Shiquan Passenger Terminal in Shijing Port. At 17:35, the crew on duty found that the fuel oil had leaked to the sea, then they reported the situation to the captain immediately, the ship reported the fuel oil leakage accident to Quanzhou Traffic Management, Nan'an Maritime Department and other relevant units at 17:40. The emergency plan for oil spill and emergency evacuation of the ship was started at 17:45, and the emergency command department was established. The emergency team carried out related emergency treatment according to the emergency plan for pollution accidents.They deploying oil booms and oil absorbent pads for controlling and cleaning the spilled oil.
