25/Mar/2020

At 12:30 on March 8th, the "Minjun 2" ship set sailed and anchored, marking that the dredging maintenance project of the Minjiang Tonghai Waterway's outer sand section was successfully resumed and started production.

The Minjiang Tonghai waterway is the “artery” of the Minjiang Inner Port Area of Fuzhou Port, and it is a supply channel that guarantees the supply of civilian biomass such as electricity and coal. Affected by the sand coming from the upper reaches of the Minjiang River, there are silting shoals on the outer sand section within the D3 # floating channel of the Minjiang River. The local water depth cannot meet the design requirements and affect navigation safety. The design elevation of the outer sand section is -7.7 meters, and the shallowest section is only -5 meters. The dredging section need to reach 4.5 kilometers, and the total design volume of dredging will be reached about 280,000 square meters. It will used silt curtains and excavators.

After completing the preparation work for the water and underwater construction permits, the Fuzhou Port Navigation Engineering Office successively completed various preparations such as the establishment of the project department, the trial operations and maintenance of construction vessels, technical delivery, and construction mobilization meetings, and they will begin to maintain the dredging construction.
