In the early morning of March 18, two 10,000 square-foot rake suction dredgers "Xinhailong" and "Xinhaihu 4" sailed into the deep-water channel outside the entrance of Xiazhimen, and the dredging project was officially launched. The 300,000-ton artificial channel expansion project of Xiazhimen is one of the city's key construction projects included in the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" of the Ministry of Transport. The construction content of the 300,000-ton artificial channel expansion project outside the Xiazhimen mainly includes the channel geomagnetic observation, the channel infrastructure dredging, and the maintenance dredgingby using silt curtains in the ship and excavator during the trial operation period. The total excavation volume is about 1.241 million m³. The planned construction period is 7 months and the total investment is 310 million yuan. Since mid-February, the bureau has successively completed the water depth measurement and surveyed before the dredging of the channel. According to the construction plan, the dredging construction has been officially launched.
