Haiyan Port and Shipping carried out ship oil spill emergency drill

In order to effectively respond to emergencies and improve safety emergency and rescue capabilities, an ship oil pollution emergency drill was carried out on the Huangwan Line channel,Haiyan Port and Shipping.

The drill was simulated that the when the ship was sailing in the channel, it hit the rocks and sank. The crew called the emergency rescue phone of the port and shipping department to request reinforcement. After received the call, the maritime staffs of Tongyuan Institute immediately contacted the salvage ship and dispatched a maritime boat to the scene of the accident. After confirming that there were no casualties on the scene, the maritime staffs found that the fuel tank fuel of the stranded ship was leaked. In order to prevent a large amount of fuel from spilling and contaminating the inland waterway, the staffs immediately carried out two rescue operations. A team of personnel imposed temporary traffic control on the incident channel and Another team of personnel organized the disposal of oil and sewage leakage. While pumping out the remaining fuel oil of the leaking ship's fuel tank to prevent the fuel oil from further overflowing and polluting the water body, at the same time, the oil booms was deployed to surround the oil spill on the water, and the oil absorbent pads was used to absorb the oil spill. After the finish of collecting oil spills on the water, the staff removed the oil booms and the drill was completed successfully.
