Flower Expo water comprehensive emergency drill was held in Chongming

Flower Expo water comprehensive emergency drill was held in Chongming. With the theme of "Flowing the Chinese Dream, Safe Water Sailing, the drill was simulated when the car and passenger ferry "Eco Island X" was sailing to the front waters of the South Gate Ferry Terminal between Shanghai Baoshan Shidongkou Wharf and Chongming South Gate Wharf . It collided with the diesel-equipped "Huaya Fuel XX" wheel. The accident caused 3 passengers on board from "Eco Island X" to fall into the river and the cargo compartment damage of "Huaya Fuel Supply XX wheel,it resulted in a small amount of diesel leakage. The ship lost control and drifted downstream with the tide. The raw water and water intake of Qingcaosha Reservoir in Shanghai's water source Security has an impact. After receiving the report, the Chongming Maritime Search and Rescue Sub-center immediately assigned the "Hai Xun 0107" ship, "Hai Xun 01084" ship, "Dong Hai Jiu 321" ship, "Huatuo 1"ship, "Huatuo 9"ship  and "Zhenhua tug 4"ship, "Huweilong 58"ship,"Sunset Environmental Emergency 8" ship and other ships to the accident waters for carrying out emergency assistance.
 
The drill was focused on six subjects including the activation of emergency response plans, the deployment of water-based competent units and social emergency forces, the search and rescue of overboard personnel, the evacuation and transfer of people in distress, the control and removal of marine oil pollution by using oil booms and oil absorbent pads, and the plugging and towing of ships in distress. Chongming District People’s Government, Chongming Maritime Safety Administration, More than 200 people and 14 ships from East China Sea Rescue Bureau, Shanghai Passenger Ship Company, China Resources Dadong, Zhenhua Heavy Industry, Xihuan Emergency and other member units of Shanghai Maritime Search and Rescue Center Chongming Branch participated in the drill.
