Shaxikou to Taijiang waterway improvement project passed initial review

The review team composed of the responsible persons and representatives of the Provincial Department of Transportation, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Provincial Port and Shipping Bureau, and the invited experts listened to the report of the preliminary design of the project design unit and the preliminary review and consultation of the project review unit. After research and discussion, they unanimously agreed that the project passed the review.
 
The total length of the navigation waterway from the Shaxikou to Sanming Taijiang Channel of the Lancang River is 76.2 kilometers. The total investment of the project is about 285 million yuan and the construction period is 18 months. The main construction contents include waterway dredging by using silt curtains and dredger, reefing, ship lock technical transformation, anchorage parking area, and construction of navigation aids, etc. With the joint efforts of all levels and departments, the Shaxikou to Sanming Taijiang waterway dredging Project of Minjiang River was successfully included in the “Thirteenth Five-Year” development plan for the water transport of the Ministry of Transport and the three-year action plan for the construction of major transportation infrastructure projects.
 
It is reported that through rectification, the Shaxikou to Sanming Taijiang waterway can meet the shipping requirements of the 500-ton class Minjiang main stream cargo-II standard ship, which will greatly enhance the main stream circulation capacity of the Minjiang River.
