Jixi Maritime Bureau undertakes water search and rescue emergency drill

Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government and Jixi Municipal People's Government hosted the Wusuli River Hutou Port water search and rescue emergency drill in Hutou Port, Jixi City., which was also co-organized by Heilongjiang Provincial Safety Supervision Bureau, Jixi Safety Supervision Bureau, Jixi Maritime Bureau and other units.
It is understood that this drill was simulated the collision of two passenger ships due to the crew's operational errors. It was caused a ship entered the water and another ship was in fire and the number of people in distress was 34. After the happening of the accident, the shipping company organized self-rescue and reported to the Jixi Maritime Bureau and relevant departments. After received the report, Jixi City immediately launched an emergency response in accordance with Jixi City's water search and rescue emergency plan, led the rescue team and equipment to the scene of the accident, and launched a comprehensive rescue and rescue operations.
The drill subjects were included accident reports, personnel transfer; ship towing, fire fighting, ship abandoning and rescue, anti-pollution and cleaning up by using oil absorbent pads and oil booms these six subjects. There are 18 participating units, 20 ships, 15 participating vehicles and 180 participants participated in this drill.
