Jinqing carried out river dredging works

20/Nov/2018
A series of problems such as discharge of domestic sewage and dumping of farmland wastes cause siltation of the riverbed, and a large amount of pollutants in the sediment, which is like a "tumor", causing water pollution. Recently, a number of rivers in Jinqing Town of Luqiao District have started dredging works. Workers used a high-pressure water gun to carry out carpet washing on the mud to restore the river's “breathing”. They also deployed silt curtains for controlling silt and sewage first.

According to the "five-year round of sparse system", Jinqing Town will classify the rivers that have been dredged in the early stage and the rivers that should be dredged at the present stage, and arrange the dredging order according to the priority, and strictly implement the "fleet chart marketing number management" work method. They will fully promote the rectification of the entire water environment. Last year, 122 towns and villages were dredged and 856 ponds were dredged.

At the beginning of this year, Jinqing Town Water Control Office required all villages to report 113 rivers that should be dredged at the current stage according to the actual situation of river silt deposition. After the “A total of five water treatment” work leading group research, 100 township-level river courses were finally included in the “2018 Jinqing Town River Channel Dredging Plan”. The dredging project is planned to invest 2.55 million Yuan, involving a total length of 64.8 kilometers. As of now, 290,000 cubic meters have been dredged.

In order to prevent the problem of river collapse and silt disposal during construction, Jinqing Town has increased manpower and material resources, and used pine piles to strengthen the river channel in advance, and required the construction party to strictly control the water pressure to ensure construction safety. As of now, 90% of the engineering volume has been completed.

In the next stage, Jinqing Town will speed up the dredging work of the remaining 10 rivers. It will further investigate and fill the gaps, implement a long-term management mechanism, and actively carry out the dredging assessment and acceptance work to ensure that dredging will be effective.
