Huancheng Water system dredging project will start

The Huancheng Water System is an important urban water body in the city, including the western water system, the southeast water system, the Taiping River and the Hutuo River. Since its completion in May 2011, it has become a large-scale leisure tourist destination with unique charm of the provincial capital.
 
In the past few years, due to the accumulation of water, the river system has more silt, and the landscape facilities along the line have deteriorated. With the increase of tourists from the surrounding water system, more and higher requirements are put forward for the water system landscape around the city. In order to meet the public's demand for water system landscape and ecology, the city plans to launch an overall upgrading project for the water system around the city, and upgrade the western water system and the southeast water system as a whole, and will carry out dredging work in advance. It will deploy silt curtains for controlling silt and then clean up the mud.
 
According to the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Bureau of Landscape Architecture introduced that the dredging project of the water system around the city is divided into two sections, the west line and the south line. The west line is from Huai'an Road to Wuzhi Canal, with a total length of 9 kilometers. The south line is from Yuxiang Street to Xinyuan Expressway, with a total length of 5.2 kilometers; the total amount of dredging is about 240,000 cubic meters.
 
"By dredging, it can reduce the endogenous pollution of the water system around the city, increase the amount of storage, and is more conducive to flooding," the official said. He said that according to the scientific evidence of multiple parties, in order to dredge more thoroughly and accurately, the dredging will adopt the method of dredging the dry pond.
 
At the beginning of September this year, after the flood season, the city's garden department began pumping and draining some river sections of the water system around the city. In the first ten days of October, the water in the channel of the dredging section was basically cleaned out and entered the stage of natural drying and drying. At present, it is in the drying stage of river silt. It is expected that in the middle and late November, the river bottom sludge can reach reasonable water content, and the dredging operations will be carried out in full.
 
The person in charge reminded the public that during this period, the water level in some river sections of the Huancheng River system was reduced, the water volume was reduced, and the first platform or even the river bed was exposed, which was normal. The city's garden department will strengthen cleaning and maintenance. After the completion of dredging, the new clean water source will be injected next spring, and the overall water quality of the water system around the city will be significantly improved.
