Jiaxing City held 2018 maritime ship comprehensive emergency drill

2018 Jiaxing City Maritime Ship Comprehensive Emergency Drill was held in Haiyan Port Area of Jiaxing Port. The drill was hosted by the Jiaxing Maritime Search and Rescue Center and the Oil Spill Response Center. A total of 9 boats were dispatched. The drill was simulated a oil tanker was happened collision in the Haiyan port area. A crew member fell into the water and the fuel oil was leaked. After received the report, the Jiaxing Maritime Search and Rescue Center and the Oil Spill Response Center immediately launched the “Jiaxing Maritime Emergency Public Emergency Preparedness Plan” and organized relevant units to carry out effective emergency operations.
 
The drill was divided the risk report and verification, the start of the plan and the emergency force coordination, the search and rescue of the drowning personnel, the cargo tank sealing and control, the oil spill control and clearance, etc., focusing on the initiation and coordination of the emergency plan and the rescue of the drowning personnel, ship plugging, oil booms deployment and on-site operation of oil skimmers. After nearly 60 minutes of intense coordinated operations, the drowning personnel were successfully rescued. The accidental ship was damaged and the cargo tank was completely blocked. The oil spill was effectively controlled and cleared. The drill was ended smoothly. Through practical drills, the port emergency management, emergency technical support and the actual combat capability of the emergency team will be fully exercised, and the commanding ability and coordinated combat capability of government departments and enterprises and institutions for emergencies will be further enhanced.
