Taiping Lake carries out ship pollution water accident emergency drill

At 10:30 on the morning of November 15, the officers from Hunagshan District maritime department received an alarm and it is symbolized that Taiping Lake ship pollution water accident emergency drill as kicked off.
The dangerous situation is the order. After received the order from the emergency command center, the Bohai Sea 1405 ship immediately went to the accident site to quickly understand the oil source, oil spill and pollution range, and then quickly report to the command center. Due to the wide range of pollution, it is requested to send ships to install oil booms in polluted waters to prevent further expansion of polluted waters, and immediately notified downstream and nearby ships to prohibit the use of fireworks to prevent fire accidents, and implemented traffic control in 50-meter range upstream and downstream of the leaking vessels. After nearly an hour of intense work, the danger of water pollution caused by the ship hitting the rocks was successfully eliminated and the navigation waterway was restored.
A total of 36 people participated in the exercise, and 8 ships of various types were dispatched. The whole exercise has a compact rhythm and scientific scheduling, involving subjects such as emergency reporting, plugging, and oil cleaning. Through the drill, it was effectively tested emergency response handling and coordination capacities of emergency teams in the emergency rescue of ship pollution accidents, and the emergency response capability was improved. Through such drills, we will comprehensively improve everyone's awareness of ecological protection, truly demonstrate the level of emergency response to water spills, explore the integrated anti-pollution and cleanup resources of the jurisdiction, summarize the successful experience of water emergency response, find the inadequacies of the emergency mechanism, and jointly promote the construction of the ship pollution emergency response system in the Taiping Lake and achieve clean development, economic development, safe development and sustainable development goals.
