Changsha Maritime Bureau carried out ship pollution disposal emergency drill

At 10 o'clock on the morning of November 20th, a ship pollution disposal emergency drill was held in the Liuyang estuary waters due to a ship collision. This drill was hosted by Hunan Water Transportation Supervision Bureau and Hunan Provincial Changsha Municipal Maritime Bureau, Provincial Water Traffic Safety Command and Supervision Center, Municipal Public Security Bureau, Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, Municipal Health Planning Commission, Municipal Wenguang New Bureau, and Provincial Navigation Engineering Company, Emergency Security Branch and City Blue Sky Rescue Team were the co-organizers. The purpose is to strengthen safety prevention and improve emergency rescue capabilities.
 
The drill was divided into three parts: first, personnel assistance; second, ship rescue; third, oil pollution control and removal.
 
The drill was simulated "Passenger Ship No. 1" collided with the "General cargo ship No. 1" when it was passing through downstream waters of the Furong North Road Bridge, it was resulted in the six passengers from "Passenger Ship No. 1" fallen into the water; The general cargo hull of the general cargo ship No. 1 was broken, and the fuel and diesel oil on the ship was leaked.
 
Subsequently, the Changsha City Water Search and Rescue Center immediately launched an emergency disposal plan, issued a navigation warning, and made traffic control over the waters of the incidents, and then they organized the rescue forces to rescue people in distress, and informed the hospital ambulances and medical personnel to rush to the scene to rescue the injured. They also organized "Passenger Ship No. 1" to save themselves, assigned sea patrol boats and tugboats to participate in rescue. For the large-scale oil spills found on the river, the Changsha Water Search and Rescue Center organized clean-up operations to recover oil spills from the river. The sea patrol ships applied the oil booms to enclose the "leaked" oil layer for centralized removal. The oil spill recovery vessel used oil skimmer to recover large spills of oil from the river surface and the oil absorbents pads is placed to absorb the oil pollution. Finally The drill was achieved the success.
