On November 27, The Yangtze River Yueyang section ship oil spill emergency joint drill was held in the Xianfeng waterway of Yunxi District.
The stream of the Xianfeng waterway in the Yangtze River is rushing, the channel is narrow, and there are more than 400 ships passing through the rivers every day. Most of ships are carried crude oil, refined oil, benzene, naphtha, cyclohexane, cyclohexanone and other chemicals. Once the chemical cargo leaks into the water and is not disposed of in time, it may cause serious damage to the ecological environment of the waters.
The exercise drill was set “building a Yangtze River ecological barrier and guarding clear water” as the theme, it was simulated a oil tanker was collided with other ships during navigation, causing cabin damaged and diesel leakage. After received the accident alarm, Yueyang Maritime Department immediately launched the oil spill linkage mechanism of the Yangtze River Yueyang section, quickly implemented the traffic warning, and organized 9 social ships to participate in the rescue. At the same time, the oil spill emergency equipment library was activated. After quick-distribution U-shaped oil booms werr laid in the oil spill area, they immediately took emergency measures to clear and recycle such as placing the oil skimmer and throwing oil absorbent pads, and the oil spill was successfully disposed.
According to reports, the oil spill linkage mechanism of the Yangtze River Yueyang section is a ship-to-oil treatment cooperation mode established by the Yueyang Maritime Bureau in the form of a memorandum to organize the relevant management units, terminal operation units and pollutant receiving units in the jurisdiction, and it is a pioneering work for disposal, regular professional training on emergency response in the oil spill emergency of the Yangtze River trunk line, and it will carry out oil spill emergency joint drill every year, the work synergy is continuously strengthened, and the emergency response capability is continuously improved, which provides an important support for the prevention and control of ship water pollution in the Yueyang section of the Yangtze River.
