On the afternoon of December 5, Weifang Maritime Bureau cooperated with Weifang Port and Shipping Bureau to jointly organize a port hazardous chemicals leakage emergency drill in the Weifang Sidamei Port Liquefaction Terminal.
This drill was mainly simulated the equipment failure of the dangerous goods ship in the Weifang Port, which causing the pollutants to leak into the Weifang sea area and the dock operation area. After received the danger report, Weifang Maritime Search and Rescue Center immediately launched the marine oil spill incidents emergency plan, organized the sea cruise ships to perform on-site warning tasks, drove away unrelated ships and prohibited other ships from entering the incident waters; Liquefied Products Terminal Company was be responsible for the main responsibility of safety production, under the unified command of the Municipal Maritime Search and Rescue Center, they implemented on-site rescue, carried out evacuation warning and environmental monitoring and medical rescue, etc.; the anti-pollution emergency units dispatched the clean-up ships and the oil booms ships to work together to carry out the control and recovery of offshore leakage chemicals. After used chemical absorbent booms and chemical absorbent pads, the spilled chemicals were successfully cleared.
This drill was improved the emergency response capability of liquid chemicals leakage at the dock, and trained the chemical spill emergency response team to effectively protect the port water environment and reduced the damage to the marine environment by sudden chemical spills.
