Sichuan Provincial Maritime Bureau held ship rescue and pollution prevention emergency drill

21/Dec/2018
On December 5, the Sichuan Provincial Local Maritime Bureau cooperated with the Dazhou Municipal Transportation Bureau and the Quxian People's Government to organize a large-scale ship out-of-control rescue and ship anti-pollution disposal emergency drill in Qujiang.

This drill was dispatched 15 boats and more than 80 participants. The emergency rescue team was able to take effective rescue operations in the first time when facing large-scale ship water out of control, and timely transfer ships and people in distress along the river. The ship that was out of control was successfully intercepted and the oil spill pollution of the ship was properly disposed by oil booms and oil absorbent pads. Through this drill, we effectively tested the water accidents and pollution emergency response capacity of Dazhou City and adjacent areas, deepened the exchange and cooperation of water traffic emergency rescue work in various regions and departments, and further improved the level of first aid for water transportation.
