Lianyungang Maritime Bureau organized 2018 maritime oil spill emergency drill

 In accordance with the relevant requirements of the Ministry of Transport's Maritime Safety Administration on Strengthening the National Marine Oil Spill Response Equipment Operation Management Guidance, further strengthen the oil spill emergency equipment operation abilities of the emergency personnel, strengthen maritime safety guarantees, and improve emergency equipment warehouses for offshore emergencies. On the afternoon of December 12, the Lianyungang Maritime Bureau organized a 2018 maritime oil spill emergency drill. The drill was hosted by the logistics management of Lianyungang Maritime Bureau, and the Department of Crime Prevention participated in the guidance. Lianyungang Taihe Ship Service Co., Ltd. was co-organized. This drill was dispatched an emergency disposal vessel, with more than 50 drillers and more than 20 emergency facilities.
 
The drill was simulated when an oil tanker was carrying out the oil uploading operations, the oil spill was occurred and then it caused oil pollution on the sea surface. It was consisted of four subjects, including the control of marine oil spills by deploying oil booms, the recovery of marine oil spills by throwing oil absorbent pads and oil absorbent boom, the unloading of ship fuel oil and the oil oil dispersant spraying. The participating forces of the exercise cooperated with each other and successfully completed the scheduled actions and tasks of the exercise. They achieved the intended goals of testing the plan, training the team, and improving the ability. They provided valuable experience for the equipment library to handle similar incidents and effectively improved the oil spill emergency handling capabilities of the emergency team.
 
Next, the Lianyungang Maritime Safety Administration will summarize and analyze the successful experience and exposed problems of the exercise, continuously improve the management of the oil spill emergency equipment library, and improve the emergency response capability.
