Liangzi Lake waters conducted ship pollution prevention emergency drill

In order to improve the emergency response capability and actual combat capability of water accidents, test the scientific and operability of the water plan, minimize the casualties caused by sudden water safety accidents, the polluted waters and economic losses of the ships, and ensure the clear waters of Liangzi Lake. Recently, the Liangzi Lake water search and rescue and ship pollution prevention emergency drill was carried out in the southeast waters of the Liangzidao Haijiang Shipping Company, which was hosted by the Liangzihu District People's Government, the Municipal Transportation Bureau and the Municipal Local Maritime Bureau. Liangzi Lake is the key regulated water area in the province. The safety of water transportation is related to the safety of people's lives and property. At the same time, it was also the first year of the implementation of the ship's anti-pollution “one plan, one planning and two systems” in the waters of Liangzi Lake. The emergency drills were carried out to improve the emergency response capacities of Liangzi Lake water safety and ship pollution emergencies and it has greatly promoted the establishment of the equipment library.
According to the predetermined plan, the drill was begun at 9:30 in the morning, and the drills was respectively carried out three categories, such as drowning personnel rescue, ship fire and passenger transfer and ship pollution prevention. Among then, the pollution was cleaned by oil booms and oil absorbent pads. And the fire was extinguished by extinguisher. The exercise scene was exciting, calm and effective, and the response was quick and effective. At 11:00 am, the drill was ended smoothly. 50 personnel from the Liangzihu Local Maritime Department and Haijiang Shipping Co., Ltd. and Wanshun Tourism Shipping Co., Ltd. participated in the on-site drill. A total of 9 ships were dispatched.
