Zhaoqing Deqing water life search and rescue and oil spill response joint drill successfully held

On May 17th, in order to further improve the water emergency response and flood fighting capacities in the Deqing Prefecture, further promote the construction of “ Safety Xiangjiang River” and build a community of water security destiny in Xijiang, Zhaoqing Deqing Maritime Department, Deqing County People’s Armed Forces Department, and Zhaoqing City Water Resources, the Water Administration Supervision Detachment and the Zhaoqing City Oil Spill Response Team and other multi-department units successfully held the 2019 Deqing Military and Government Enterprise water life search and rescue and oil spill response drills in the upstream waters of the Deqing Xijiang Bridge.
 
At 3 pm, the drill was officially begun. When a sailing ship approached the 500-meter waters upstream of the raft at the Deqing Marine Department in Zhaoqing, a sudden collision was occurred, it was caused a person to fall into the water and there was a risk of oil spill. After received the report, Zhaoqing Deqing Maritime Department quickly launched the emergency plan, organized the relevant departments' water emergency forces to rush to the incident waters for emergency response, implemented traffic control on the scene, and searched and rescued the drowning personnel in an orderly manner. At the same time, they put the oil booms, put on the oil absorbent pads, recovered the oil spill, and fully disposed of the oil spill in a orderly manner. After the cooperation of various departments, the danger was finally resolved.
 
According to Han Mingming, deputy director of the Deqing Maritime Department introduced that 14 drill boats and more than 80 participants were involved in the drill. It was carried out in the form of military-enterprise cooperation. It was the largest water emergency drill held in our county in recent years. The whole exercise was based on the realistic situation setting and urgent time requirements. It was tested the ability of the water emergency team in command and dispatch, coordination and rapid maneuvering in the face of sudden and complex dangers, and truly created a quality emergency rescue team on the water emergency, improved the sudden public events response abilities and coordination of all parties.
 
After the end of the drill, the participating departments also held an evaluation meeting, carefully summarized and analyzed the experience and deficiencies of the drill, and earnestly explored the long-term mechanism of effective cooperation among multiple departments to effectively guarantee the safety of water transportation in the Deqing area.
