Zhoushan Laotangshan Port Area held an oil spill emergency drill

This morning, the Laotangshan Port Area oil spill emergency drill of was held in the forefront waters of the Zhoushan Shihua Crude Oil Terminal. The drill was simulated when a tanker was carrying out unloading operations; it happened a accident, causing some crude oil to leak into the nearby waters. In this emergency drill, 9 units including maritime, port and shipping, and oil cleaning companies, 11 ships of various types, and nearly 100 people participated. The drill was held in the Safe Month that aims to effectively coordinate the rescue forces of all parties and improve the maritime oil spill response abilities.
After received the dangerous situation, Dinghai Maritime Department immediately reported to the higher authorities, and launched an emergency plan to guide the company and the ship for self-rescue immediately, and dispatched all parties to carry out actions. Ten minutes later, the sea patrol 07739 boat and the Zhejiang Port Cruise 1102 boat first arrived in the incident area, they were responsible for warning and on-site guidance. Five minutes later, the two oil booms ships were also delivered, and the oil control was carried out according to the on-site instructions. The fire tugboat also continuously sprayed water columns to isolate oil and gas and prevent possible secondary disasters. Five minutes later, the first multi-purpose clean-up ship in the Zhoushan area, the Xinhai Qinglun and several other ships of social clean-up power also arrived one after another to remove the oil from the surface by using oil absorbent pads. At around 10:35, all the oil in the two oil booms was cleaned, but a small amount of oil was still floating outside the boom. The cleanup vessels continue to clean up the surrounding waters. At about 10:40, the drill was ended satisfactorily.
