2019 Hangzhou Bay Hangshao Waters maritime comprehensive drill exercise was successfully held

Recently, 2019 Hangzhou Bay Hangshao Waters maritime comprehensive drill exercise was successfully held. The drill was hosted by the Hangzhou Maritime Bureau. More than 100 people, 10 boats, 2 drones and an emergency vehicle in the area participated in the exercise. The Zhejiang Maritime Search and Rescue Center, Hangzhou and Shaoxing governments and related units have on-site observation and guidance.
 
This drill is a major measure to promote the construction of the water emergency response mechanism in the waters of the Qiantang River estuary. The drill was set up four subjects, such as ship fire control, ship control, personnel rescue, and water clearing. It was purpose to test the organization, coordination, command, disposal and equipment use capacities of the water emergency forces by means of actual ship exercises.
 
The drill was simulated when a Chinese-owned ship "Zhe A" was sailing from Zhoushan to the Xiaoshan Linjiang Wharf, and it sailed to the 1 nautical mile downstream of the Jiashao Bridge, it was caused the fire of the main high-pressure fuel pipe to break the fuel, and then it lost power and had the danger of colliding with the bridge. After received the alarm, the Hangzhou Maritime Bureau urgently organized on-site rescue, dispatched nearby ships to assist in the stabilization of the ship's position, and at the same time they used the ship's fire-fighting equipment to assist in the fire-fighting. After more than ten minutes of intense and orderly rescue, the fire was successfully extinguished. During the rescue process, two crew members accidentally fell into the sea and there happened a ship spill. Through the deployment of sea patrol boats, coordination of government and civilian rescue forces, and the addition of drones, the Hangzhou Maritime Bureau immediately launched a comprehensive search and rescue of the land, sea and air, and successfully rescued two people who fell into the water. At the same time, the cleaning vessels carried the oil booms and the oil absorbent pads, and used the ship's spray device to carry out the water clearing operations. After 20 minutes of intense treatment, the oil spill on the surface was completely removed.
