Xiaoshan launched Hangzhou-Ningbo Canal water joint emergency drill

Yesterday afternoon, Xiaoshan Port Navigation was carry out the Hangzhou-Ningbo water joint emergency drill in the water front of Zhejiang Jiangshun Industrial Co., Ltd. It was exercised sudden ship collision accidents, people falling into water, ship fire accidents, and river pollution accidents. A total of 12 maritime boats, assault boats, accident ships, and decontamination ships were dispatched, with more than 50 participants.
The drill was included four subjects: search and rescue of people on board and drowning people, fire fighting and extinguishing of ships, towing of unpowered ships, and oil spill disposal from ships. The drill was simulated a sudden collision between the two cargo ships, resulting in crew immersion and oil pollution caused by hull combustion and water pollution. After received the alarm, the Xiaoshan Port and Air Navigation Office and Keqiao Port and Air Navigation respectively implemented a navigation ban on the upstream and downstream of the accident waters, and immediately launched rescue and emergency treatment. They dispatched clean-up ships to contain and absorb the scattered oil pollution by deploying oil booms and oil absorbent pads. At the periphery, a multifunctional automatic cleaning boat cleaned up diffused oil pollution.
