Rizhao Maritime Bureau organized a ship oil spill emergency drill

Recently, the Rizhao Maritime Bureau organized an offshore oil spill accident emergency drill in the operation area of the Lanshan Port District. A total of 9 ships and 82 emergency personnel participated in the drill.
According to reporters, this drill was carried out by Rizhao Maritime Bureau and it was in coordination with Rizhao Port Barge Company and Rizhao Mingda Ship Service Co., Ltd., and dispatched 2 sea patrol boats, 2 fire tugs, 2 professional decontamination vessels and 3 auxiliary decontamination vessels. A total of 82 personnel personnel participated in the exercise. In addition, the drill was also mobilized 3 oil skimmers, more than 1,000 meters of oil booms, 200 meters of oil-absorbing towlines, 2 sets of spraying devices, oil absorbent pads and oil dispersants.
The drill was simulated the deflagration of a company's liquefied hydrocarbon spherical tank area in the Lanzhong operation area of Rizhao Port, which affecting the surrounding crude oil tank area and unloading ships in the port, then it was resulted in oil spills from the ships in the port and accompanied by oil fires. After the accident, the Rizhao Offshore Oil Spill Emergency Disposal Command Center launched the Rizhao Ship Oil Spill Incident Emergency Response Plan, and all relevant departments responded quickly, and mobilized emergency forces to rush to the incident area for disposal. The participating emergency ships and emergency personnel rushed to the site in accordance with the disposal plan, and carried out site survey, traffic control, equipment deployment, fire fighting, oil booms controlling, oil skimmers recovery, oil-absorbing towlines sweeping, oil absorbent pads throwing and oil spill dispersants spraying, finally they successfully completed the removal of oil spills.
