On the morning of September 3, a cargo ship named "Pingnan Yuanda 6XXX" struck a rock and sank while passing by the Siqiao waters of the Xijiang River in Wuzhou. Wuzhou Maritime successfully rescued four crew members and a child from the sunken ship.

After receiving the police, the Wuzhou Maritime Safety Administration immediately dispatched the maritime patrol law enforcement detachment to the scene of the accident for rescue, and contacted the shipwreck crew by telephone to ask the crew on board to wear life jackets and bring relevant documents to prepare for abandonment of the ship. The Wuzhou Maritime Safety Administration immediately issued a navigation notice, telling ships in nearby waters to stay away from the ship to prevent secondary danger. At 09:50, law enforcement officers rushed to the scene in a sea cruiser. Due to the large perforation area of the bow of the ship, the cargo hold was flooded. At this time, the ship had sunk on the red-marked edge of the channel on the Siqiao waters of Xijiang River in Wuzhou. 4 crew members and 1 child were preparing to leave the accident waters in a small motorboat. Considering the surface whirlpool and the safety of the motorboat, law enforcement officers transferred it to the sea cruiser. At 10:10, law enforcement officers prepared on-site vigilance near the waters of the accident ship, and contacted the pollution cleaning company to set up oil booms, oil absorbent pads and other anti-pollution appliances in the waters around the accident ship to prevent further ship oil spills and pollution.
