17/Sep/2020

At 10 am on September 9, the Municipal Transportation Bureau carried out the 2020 Bozhou tourist boat distress, fire protection and pollution prevention emergency drill at Shidaying Ferry.

During the exercise, it was simulated that a cruise ship suddenly caught fire while driving, the power equipment of the hull leaked oil and could not be started, and two tourists fell into the water in a panic. When the crew found that someone on the cruise ship fell into the water, they immediately threw a lifebuoy to them who fell into the water and reported it to the maritime department. The water safety emergency rescue plan was immediately activated: emergency rescuers, ambulances, marine cruisers, and fire engines were dispatched, the rescuers put the drowning tourists flat on the rescue boat and quickly docked. After the drowning tourists were rescued, the medical staffs immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and then quickly transferred the drowning tourists to the ambulance to the hospital.

In response to the fire of cruise ship and tourists being trapped, firefighting and rescue personnel skillfully rescued the trapped tourists ashore and successfully extinguished the fire on the ship according to the rescue deployment and progress. At the same time, two marine patrol boats of the Maritime Department on the river are using oil booms and oil absorbent pads to intercept and clean up the fuel leaking on the river.

The entire exercise process lasted for more than half an hour. All links were tense and orderly, busy but not chaotic. The exercise personnel worked closely together and acted quickly, finally the drill was achieved a complete success.
