Changzhou holds comprehensive water search and rescue drill

2020 Changzhou City water search and rescue comprehensive drill was held at the upper reaches of Lu'anzhou Yangtze River Wharf. The drill was mainly included four subjects out-of-control ship disposal, ship fire fighting, life rescue, and oil spill containment and disposal by using oil booms and oil absorbent pads. The drill was simulated that a sea-going vessel "A" suddenly lost control while descending near the Changtaishi No. 3 red buoy and passing the bridge construction area, it collided with the "B" ship that was going to enter the No. 6 main pier construction area. This resulted in fire in the living area of the "A" ship, two people fell into the water, damaged to the hull of the "B" ship and fuel leakage. After receiving the report, the Municipal Aquatic Search and Rescue Center immediately launched an emergency plan, and quickly organized member units, volunteer teams, and social search and rescue forces to carry out emergency response work.
