07/Dec/2020

Recently, a water transportation emergency drill jointly carried out by the Beibei District Maritime Department of Chongqing City and the Jialing District Maritime Department of Nanchong City,it was held at the largest inland river passenger terminal in the Lidu Town, Jialing District.

At 1 o'clock in the afternoon of the same day, with the order of the drill commander, the joint emergency drill officially was begun. It was seen that a Beibei No. 1 ship was drifting on the Jialing River due to machine failure. After receiving the report, the joint command immediately activated the emergency plan and dispatched "Chuanhai Rescue 11" ship and "Chuan Haixun 16" ship to the waters where the incident occurred. It only took more than 10 minutes to drag the "accident ship" away from the river, and it was eliminated the danger. The subject of "Ship Drifting and Towing" has just ended, and the joint headquarters again received a report: A crew member of Beibei No. 1 ship fell into the water and requested emergency rescue. The headquarters once again activated the emergency plan and dispatched water rescue flying wings to rush to the crew's falling water area and rescue the crew from the water on the rescue boat.

At 2:30 in the afternoon, the joint headquarters received a report again, saying that a crew member on the Jialing River accidentally overturned the oil drum containing "oil pollution" into the river, and there was an oil spill on the river that could not be resolved by itself. The joint headquarters urgently commanded "Chuanhai Rescue 11" ship and "Chuan Haixun 16" ship to rush to the waters where the incident occurred, quickly deployed oil booms to the oil spill waters, and used oil absorbent pads to remove oil spills on the river.

In the nearly two-hour exercise, the participants were in a state of close to actual combat, successfully completed the emergency rescue treatment and disposal of the three subjects of "ship dragging and towing", "crew overboard rescue" and "river surface oil spill handling".
