The dredging project of the main channel of Shandong Port Qingdao Port Dongjiakou was completed

The maintenance dredging project of the main channel of Dongjiakou Port Area was successfully completed one month ahead of schedule. It fulfilled the schedule target with high quality and high efficiency, and provided a reliable guarantee for port production operations.

This project mainly carried out maintenance and dredging of areas shallower than -23.2m in the main channel waters, in order to increase the navigation guarantee rate of 400,000-ton ore ships and improve the navigation safety factor of ships in the main channel.

The maintenance of the channel is carried out on the only access channel for large ships. It is not necessary to affect the production of the terminal as much as possible, also need ensure the safety of ships in and out of the port, and to complete the maintenance of the channel efficiently and safely, which is extremely challenging for construction management.

After careful organization and multi-party coordination, the Dongjiakou main channel dredging project has been carried out non-stop, day and night without affecting terminal operations and navigation of ships. The dredging project covers an area of 3.5 square kilometers and the total amount of dredging is about 260,000 cubic meters. It was used some dredgers,machines and silt curtains. All the projects were successfully completed on February 26, fulfilling the schedule goal ahead of schedule, meeting the navigable water depth requirements of large ships, and providing important support and guarantee for port production operations.
