Accident tracking of collision of two cargo ships in the waters of Guangzhou Port

At around 11:05 on April 10, the container ship "Hailan Zhonggu XX" and the bulk carrier "Haohang XX" collided in the main channel near the No. 60 buoy of Guangzhou Port, causing the "Haohang XX" ship to sink and 13 people on board. All drowning crew members were rescued safely. In addition, oil spills occurred after the ship collided at the scene, and the maritime department has coordinated professional anti-pollution forces to be on-site.

After receiving the report that night, the search and rescue center immediately activated the emergency plan, verified the location of the ship in distress, and launched a joint rescue deployment, and dispatched four maritime vessels including "Hai Xun 09115", "Hai Xun 09118", "Hai Xun 09111" and "Hai Xun 09117" as soon as possible. The boats went to the scene for oil spill disposal by using oil booms and oil absorbent pads, and quickly coordinated with the surrounding passing ships to participate in the search and rescue of people overboard.
The Guangzhou Vessel Traffic Control Center has implemented temporary traffic control in the waters where the incident occurred, and broadcast navigation warnings through smart maritime systems, VHF high-frequency and other means, and reminded the safety of ships in the surrounding waters, they required ships to strengthen their lookouts for preventing secondary accidents.

After nearly 20 minutes of emergency rescue by the ship at the scene, all 13 people who fell into the water were rescued and were in good physical condition with no casualties. At present, the maritime department has coordinated professional anti-pollution forces to be on-site, and on-site emergency handling and accident investigations are in progress.
