Jiangmen Maritime Law Enforcement Department seized 2 inland waterways vessels

On March 2nd, two inland waterways vessels were seized by the maritime law enforcement authorities in the Taishan sea area of Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, it was escorted to the designated waters of the Jiangmen River in the Jiangmen River to receive further law enforcement investigations and follow-up processing.
 
Inland waterway vessels are illegally engaged in maritime transportation and operations. Due to poor ship performance, ship owners and crews are lack awareness of the risks of maritime navigation. They lack sufficient knowledge and operational skills in water traffic safety, and even ignore the relevant regulations on water traffic safety management. Inadvertently, it is easy to cause water traffic accidents, resulting in casualties and property losses, and may cause pollution of the secondary oil spills maritime environment. The maritime oil spill need oil booms and oil absorbent pads for controlling and cleaning the spilled oil. Since the beginning of this year, the Jiangmen Taishan Maritime Department has dispatched 84 law enforcement personnel, and has been on duty for more than 110 hours at sea. It has investigated and dealt with 15 illegal ships and 45 administrative sanctions.
