Chengdu held sudden water pollution accidents emergency response drill

Yesterday, the Chengdu city carried out a sudden water environmental pollution accident emergency response drill in the Minjiang River in Chengdu. Municipal Standing Committee member Zuo Zheng and deputy mayor Cao Junjie directed the drill.
At 14:30 yesterday, the drill was officially begun. The command center commanded the relevant district (city) county and participating units to conduct emergency treatment drills for sudden water pollution incidents in accordance with the emergency plan. The drill was simulated the waste water of a waste water treatment tank in an electrolytic aluminum plant in the upper reaches of the Minjiang River, mixed with rainwater and a small amount of mineral oil into the Minjiang River, and a large amount of phosphogypsum from a phosphogypsum yard in the upper reaches of the Minjiang River entered the upper reaches of the Beihe River due to the continuous rainstorm. All departments quickly carried out emergency rescue work in an orderly manner in accordance with their own duties, and completed various emergency drills according to predetermined procedures. It was used oil booms and oil absorbent pads for controlling and cleaning the oil in the river. In the end, the drill was achieved the success.
