Harbin Taiping Maritime Department launch a comprehensive water emergency drill

On May 20, Harbin Taiping Maritime Department cooperated with Harbin Xinglong Tourism Passenger Service Co., Ltd. to launch a comprehensive water emergency drill in the near Qidaojie Waters. There are more than 40 personnel, 2 passenger ferries and 1 seesaw ship from Xinglong Company participated in the drill; Taiping Maritime Department dispatched 6 law enforcement officers and 2 sea patrol boats to implement temporary traffic control and security alert on the waters of the exercise site. The person in charge of Xinglong Company and the maritime law enforcement personnel jointly served as the on-site commander. The Navigation Management Office of the Harbin Municipal Transportation Bureau visited the site as a special guest.
 
This comprehensive drill took a script-free approach and simulated a sudden passenger cabin fire when a passenger ferry owned by Xinglong Company sailed to the Qidao Street section outside Harbin Road, Songhua River. During the fire extinguishing process, personnel accidentally fell into the water and the ship was implemented due to loss of control of the power, then they abandoned the ship, the rescue ship was in the whole process of oil spill accidents in the terminal refueling, and truly reproduced and reviewed the emergency linkage mechanism of the maritime department and the passenger transportation company in case of an emergency, and it was well trained a practical and rapid response. It was deployed oil booms and oil absorbent pads for oil spill control and clean-up. In conjunction with the promotion of the “Seven Enters” campaign for water safety publicity and education, the implementation of the responsibilities for the safety production of shipping companies has been comprehensively enhanced, and the emergency response capabilities of waterborne employees has been enhanced, thus it was laid a solid safe foundation for the safe operations of passenger ships in the upcoming Children’s Day and Dragon Boat Festival.
