Sudden water environmental incidents drill was carried out
09/Sep/2019
2019 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei sudden water environmental incidents drill was kicked off in the Chaobai River Basin of Baodi District, Tianjin. For the first time, the drill used high-tech equipment such as drones and robots. The amphibious unmanned vehicle was directly sampled by the river, and the environmental monitoring personnel of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region monitored the scene.
The drill simulated a fire and explosion accident at a chemical plant in Baodi District, Tianjin. Some organic matter entered into the Chaobai New River and polluted the water environment. After the “water pollution incident” occurred, the People’s Government of Baodi District initiated the emergency response plan for sudden environmental incidents at the first time, and organized relevant departments to take emergency measures such as traffic control, personnel rescue, gate interception and air and river basin water quality monitoring to maximize the spread of the pollution, and at the same time they activated the joint prevention and control mechanism, and separately reported the situation to the downstream and higher-level ecological environment departments, and took emergency measures to control the water volume and flow rate to gain time and created favorable conditions for downstream disposal. It was used oil booms and oil absorbent pads for controlling and cleaning the water pollution.
