Hangzhou Transportation Department held Qiantang River Water Readiness Emergency Drill

In order to improve the preparedness of the traffic department of the city and the emergency handling capacity of the Qiantang River water traffic accident, the Hangzhou Traffic Readiness Office, the Qianjiang Local Maritime Department, the Waterway Management Office, the Water Bus Company, the Star Cruises Company and two social assistance agencies these 7 units participated this Qiantang River water preparation emergency drill.
 
The drill was carried out in the Qiantang River “Tourist Boat Sightseeing Area”. At the beginning of this year, the Qianjiang local maritime affairs were opened on the city balcony according to the navigation flow of the ship, the location of the main channel, the water depth of the area, and taking into account the tourist demand for passenger ships. The water area has set up a “sightseeing area” where the tourist passenger ships are staying and sightseeing, and at the same time, they do not hinder the navigation of the main channel vessels, and the passenger ships and other cargo ships have their own way, which fully guarantees the safety of sightseeing and navigation. The main subjects and contents of the drill include the collision of passenger ships, self-rescue, joint search and rescue of missing persons, rescue of passenger ships in distress, and prevention and control of oil pollution by deploying oil booms and oil absorbent pads.
