Tongling Maritime Department launched ship anti-pollution drill and security inspection

In order to improve the ship management level of shipping companies, supervise the implementation of the main responsibility of safety and pollution prevention and improve the level of emergency disposal. On December 4, Tongling Maritime Departement organized a chemical tanker cargo leak drill and security inspection at Jinyuan Wharf. Tongling Maritime Department, Jinyuan Wharf, Anhui Port Logistics Co., Ltd. and the relevant vessels in the jurisdiction participated in the drill.
 
The chemical tanker cargo leakage drill was simulated when the heavy-duty operation ship "Tonglinghua ***" was carrying out the loading operations at Jinyuan Wharf. Due to the wind and waves, the sulfuric acid transportation pipeline fell off from the cargo hold hatch and sulfuric acid overflew to the cargo deck. The crew issued a fire alarm as soon as they found it, and launched an emergency plan and asked the maritime department for help. After received the report, law enforcement officers of the Tongling Maritime Department arrived at the scene with rescue equipment. Jinyuan Wharf and "Tonglinghua ***" ship carried out emergency response to cargo leakage by using chemical absorbent pads and chemical absorbent booms in accordance with the requirements of the emergency plan, and then the drill was successfully finished. Subsequently, the Tongling Division's law enforcement officers made a comprehensive summary of the drill, they commented that the drill process was standardized, personnel cooperated with each other, the department cooperated well, and the actions were in place quickly, and they also indicated the shortcomings and efforts directions in the drill.
