10/Nov/2020

In the sea area of 38 degrees 28 minutes 8 seconds north latitude and 117 degrees 44 minutes 4 seconds east longitude, the CNPC Offshore Emergency Rescue and Response Center and Dagang Oilfield Zhaodong Operations Branch jointly carried out an offshore oil spill containment and control emergency drill.

The drill was simulated a damaged oil spill about an oil and gas mixed pipeline on an offshore production platform. Subsequently, the PetroChina Offshore Emergency Center received a notice requesting to dispatch 2 oil spill recovery vessels urgently to provide oil spill containment and recovery assistance. After receiving the alert, the CNPC Offshore Emergency Center immediately dispatched the "CNPC Emergency 103" ship to the accident area to carry out rescue operations.
After the “CNPC Emergency 103” ship arrived at the scene, the working boat was hoisted and the oil booms were laid according to the wind direction, flow direction, and sea conditions at the scene. The emergency ship adjusted its position, and the operator sprayed oil spill dispersants into the enclosed sea area. In the end, all marine oil spills were effectively controlled and recovered, and the drill was ended successfully.
