Chongqing holds the largest water emergency rescue drill this year

On the morning of November 27, a fierce "blockbuster" was staged in the waters of Hualongqiao, Jialing River. This was a comprehensive water emergency drill in Chongqing, it was hosted by the Municipal Transportation Bureau and undertaken by the Municipal Maritime Affairs Center. This drill was including six projects,such as life rescue, out-of-control ship interception and towing, oil spill disposal, diving and salvage, more than 20 advanced rescue ships, more than 100 professional water rescue personnel linkage, drones, remote-controlled life-saving devices, multi-beam underwater scanning and a series of new rescue equipment including the system was unveiled.
 
At 10 o'clock in the morning, in the Xiaotan waters of the Jialing River, "Jiaoyun 09" ship turned and descended on the waters above the Hongyancun Bridge, and "Xianglong 808" ship went up the waters above the Jiahua Bridge. The two ships were simulated collisions in the waters below the Hualong Bridge base. "The accident" caused many people to fall into the water, and the container banana bucket on board also sank into the river. After the two ships were collided, there was an explosion, and suddenly thick smoke billowed, and flames rose several meters high. The "passengers" on the ship panicked and ran around.
 
The two "accident ships" reported to the emergency duty room of the Port and Shipping Affairs Center, and immediately began self-rescue. The crew immediately used the fire extinguishers nearby to extinguish the arc, and instructed passengers to wear life jackets to calm their emotions.
 
After receiving the alarm, the Port and Shipping Affairs Center notified the water law enforcement team to implement traffic control, and at the same time notified the rescue center to dispatch rescue boats to carry out life rescue. The rescue center first dispatched drones equipped with life-saving floats and smart life-saving devices to the scene. It is important to save people!
 
The two assault boats quickly rushed to the scene again, rescued the people who had no life-saving equipment, and brought the life-saving device and the life-saving float to the shore. The water public security rushed to the "accident ship" to evacuate the passengers in distress. The port and shipping department sent rescue personnel to support it in the plugging operations. The ships belonging to the Jialing River Channel intercepted the dangerous goods barrels. At the same time, the Yuzhong District Ecological Environment Bureau went to the waters where the accident occurred to develop water quality emergency monitoring and collection of water quality changes in the accident water area.
 
Ship firefighting was also carried out at the same time. Those involved in ship firefighting were Yu Rescue 113 ship, fire command boats, and integrated fire fighting ships. The powerful “water dragon” rushed towards the burning ships, and the ferocious flames soon died down. Subsequently, the out-of-control ships intercepting towing, oil spill handling by using oil booms and oil absorbent pads and diving salvage were carried out to minimize the loss caused by the entire accident site.
