The Water Detachment held a passenger ship emergency response drill

The Water Detachment of the Shanghai Fire Rescue Corps and the Baoshan Maritime Department held a passenger ship emergency response drill. The drill was divided into 6 subjects including emergency response, ship fire disposal, and water pollution disposal by using oil booms and oil absorbent pads,etc.It simulated when the high-speed passenger ship "Yingzhou 10" fully loaded with passengers was leaving Baoyang Road passenger ferry terminal, the engine room suddenly caught fire and smoke billowed. Passengers and crew on board are in urgent need of rescue. After receiving the dispatch order, "Huxiao No. 5" ship immediately rushed to the scene to carry out fire fighting and rescue operations, and made full use of innovative equipment such as water-belt flash floaters, emergency catapult-oriented flash light groups and other innovative equipment to assist fire-fighting and rescue operations. After nearly an hour of emergency treatment, the fire was successfully extinguished and all subjects were successfully completed. Through this joint drill, the water joint emergency response capabilities of the emergency teams were further tested, and the waterway was escorted to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the waterway during the Expo. After the exercise, the "Shanghai Consumer No. 5"ship immediately carried out an instant evaluation, summed up experience and insufficient analysis. On the way back, the logistical food support capability was also checked on board.
