Dandong Port Group Co., Ltd. jointly launched 2021 Dandong City comprehensive ship emergency drill. This comprehensive drill was included 5 subjects and 11 scenes, involving 3 emergency response projects of ship fire fighting, life-saving, and oil spill disposal. More than 70 participants, 8 ships of various types, 6 vehicles of various types, and more than 30 observers were dispatched. It fully simulated the whole process of ship accident and emergency rescue.

 
Before the drill started, there was a sudden heavy fog in the waters of the port area, and the visibility was poor, it made it difficult to carry out the drill. In order to test the emergency response level of the emergency team under severe weather and fully exercised the team's actual combat abilities, after thorough research by the maritime department and the drill command based on the actual situation, it was decided to carry out the drill as scheduled under the conditions of ensuring the safety of ship personnel.

At 09:40, with the order of the on-site commander in chief, the emergency drill was officially started. The simulated accident ship had a fire in the No. 2 harbor basin of Dandong Port. The ship immediately reported to the maritime department and immediately carried out fire-fighting and self-rescue. The maritime department quickly received the report,started the fire emergency plan, organized the Dandong Port Group to dispatch firefighting ships and vehicles for rescue, and arranged maritime patrol boats for on-site alert and traffic control; after the fire was extinguished, one person on the ship fell into the water, and the on-site command quickly organized the surrounding ships to search and rescue. The people who fell into the water was successfully rescued and sent to the hospital for treatment. At the same time, the ship’s cabin was damaged due to the fire, and about 3 tons of fuel leaked into the sea. The maritime department quickly launched an oil spill emergency plan and organized the Dandong Port Group to dispatch cleanup forces to clean up the pollution. An emergency ship set up oil booms near the accident water area to prevent oil pollution from spreading, and at the same time dispatched a professional cleaning vessel to recover the oil spill by using oil absorbent pads and oil skimmers on the sea; after the oil was recovered, the drill was ended, and all the participants gathered for a summary assessment.
