Fuzhou Changle Maritime Department organized jurisdiction to carry out oil spill emergency drill

On June 23, in order to improve the oil spill emergencies level of terminals, cleanup companies, and berthing ships in the jurisdiction, and enhance the multi-party cooperation abilities,Fuzhou Changle Maritime Department organized a ship oil spill emergency drill at the terminals of the jurisdiction.

According to reports, this drill was simulated an oil spill accident of the "Ranze" vessel when it was berthing at Yuanhong Wharf. About 300 cubic meters of filthy oil spilled onto the sea, causing pollution in the sea near the wharf. The terminal company quickly activated the emergency plan, and the maritime law enforcement boat "Hai Xun 08215" rushed to command and guard the scene. During the drill, the relevant valves of the spilled ship were closed and carried out self-rescue; the terminal carried out emergency disposal of oil skimmers and oil absorbent pads; the cleaning company carried out operations such as oil booms layout, oil collection operations, and oil spill dispersant spraying. The drill was intense and orderly, and all parties cooperated closely to achieve the intended results.
 
The drill dispatched 4 ships and more than 40 participants. Through the exercise, the emergency response capabilities of the participating units were effectively exercised, and the performance of the oil spill equipment of the terminal companies and professional cleaning units in the jurisdiction was tested again, and the actual combat experience was further accumulated, which laid a solid foundation for the oil spill emergency response work in the jurisdiction.
