18/Sep/2019

On the 29th, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei sudden water environment incident emergency drill was held in the Chaobai River Basin of Baodi District, Tianjin. About 20 units from the relevant departments of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei were jointly participated.

The drill was simulated a fire and explosion accident at a chemical plant in Baodi District, and some organic matter entered the Chaobai New River, causing pollution to the water environment. The People's Government of Baodi District initiated the emergency response plan for sudden environmental incidents for the first time, and organized relevant departments to take emergency measures such as traffic control, personnel rescue, gate interception and air and water quality monitoring to maximize the control of pollution spread. And then they used oil booms and oil absorbent pads for controlling and cleaning oil spill. At the same time, the joint prevention and control mechanism would be launched to inform the downstream and higher-level ecological environment departments of the situation, and took emergency measures to control the water volume and flow rate to gain time and create favorable conditions for downstream disposal.
