Shanghai Navigation Marks Office conducts oil spill emergency drill

Today The Shanghai Navigation Marks Office of the East China Sea Navigation Support Center carried out a water spill emergency drill in the waters near Zhujiabang of the Huangpu River to further enhance the oil spill emergency response capabilities.
It is understood that this oil spill emergency drill simulated a ship oil tank leakage accident in the waters near Zhujiabang Wharf, and a large area of fuel leakage occurred at the accident site. After receiving the oil spill emergency response task book, the Shanghai Navigation Marks Office immediately activated the oil spill emergency response plan. The relevant departments responded immediately, assessed the sea conditions and weather, and prepared emergency equipment. The Haixun 160 ship rushed to the scene with oil spill cleaning equipment,and deployed oil skimmers, oil booms, rudders and other equipment in the accident waters, and then oil absorbent pads were put in to recover oil products, and the sludge transfer with oil skimmers is simulated. After a series of intense operations, the recovery of dirty oil was completed at 15:00 in the afternoon, the oil spilled on the water was effectively controlled and removed, and the drill was achieved a complete success.
According to Chen Guowei, Chief of the Technical Equipment Section of the Shanghai Navigation Marks Office, the oil spill emergency drill aims to improve the pollution prevention and actual combat skills of navigation mark operators, strengthen the emergency response coordination and linkage capabilities of various departments of the navigation mark, and promote the safety of water traffic in the jurisdiction.
