Zhongshan Shenwan held a shipyard's pollution prevention joint defense body emergency drill. The emergency scenario simulated by the exercise is: at the Kaili Shipyard Wharf, Shenwan Town, Zhongshan, due to the crew’s wrong operations of the equipment in the ship, resulting in a fuel leakage accident. The accident formed an oil spill belt with a length of about 200 meters and a width of about 20 meters, and it was gradually expanding. If it is not handled in time, the spill will cause large-scale pollution of the Xijiang waters, and the situation is extremely severe.
 
After receiving the police, the Zhongshan Marine Search and Rescue Center immediately issued a series of instructions: they coordinated with the Binjiang Police Station and the Shenwan Maritime Department to dispatch boats to implement traffic control and marine alert on the waters where the incident occurred; mobilized 3 clean-up vessels to use tidal characteristics to spread the oil spilled water surface,put oil booms, put oil absorbent pads, and fully recovered oil spills; notify the environmental protection department to carry out environmental monitoring.
 
At the same time, the joint defense body of Shenwan Township Shipyard in Zhongshan City also received a report and acted quickly: the "Emergency Plan for Marine Environment Pollution by Ships in the Shipyard Joint Defense Body in the Shenwan District of Zhongshan City" was immediately established, and the leader in charge of Shenwan Town was established as the commander-in-chief According to the requirements of the emergency plan, Kaili Shipyard has taken self-rescue measures such as closing valves, stopping operations, assisting ships to leave berths, and starting fire-fighting facilities at the docks.
 
With the joint efforts of many parties, after more than 20 minutes of intense rescue, the leaked fuel was effectively handled. By 11:50, all exercises were successfully completed.
