Huai'an District 2018 rural river dredging project completed

    Since the beginning of this year, Huai'an District has vigorously implemented the rural river dredging trench pool regulation project. According to statistics, it has dredged 11 rural rivers with 45.6 kilometers length and 970,100 earthworks (including a district river with 10.7 kilometers length and 337,800 squares, and 10 township rivers with 34.9 kilometers length and 63.13 million squares). Gully remediation was involved 318 rivers and ponds in 30 administrative villages; there was 1,134,200 cubic meters earthworks and 20 types of supporting buildings, with a total investment of 9.5 million Yuan. The project was started on January 12, 2018. At present, the project has been basically completed.
 
    It was firstly used silt curtains for controlling the silt, then used dredger for cleaning the silt. After the project was implemented, 21,000 mu of drainage area was improved, 0.5 million mu of irrigated area was improved, 0.2 million mu of land was harvested for drought and flood control, 0.4 square kilometers of soil and water was destroyed, and 42,000 trees were planted and afforested. This was greatly improved people’s production and life and improved agriculture. The production conditions have laid a solid foundation for high agricultural output and stable production.
