Shanghai will carry out ship accident emergency drill

    Yesterday, Dongguang reporter Che Runyu learned from the Shanghai Maritime Search and Rescue Conference that Shanghai will organize and carry out ship accident emergency drill to improve the emergency response capability and training level of the search and rescue center in a targeted manner, and use the experience of the disposal of “SANCHI” tanker in order to further enhance the emergency spilled oil and dangerous chemicals disposal ability of ship. It will used oil booms, oil absorbent mats, oil skimmers and other equipment to control and recovery spilled oil.
 
    According to statistics, Shanghai organized a total of 237 maritime search and rescue operations last year; it was successfully rescued 1,818 people and 230 ships with 97.48% search and rescue success rate.
