Yantian Port Area launched oil spill emergency drill

On April 19, the reporter has learned from the Yantian Maritime Bureau that 2018 Yantian Port Area oil spill emergency drill was held in Yantian Port. This drill was simulated a fuel leakage from a vessel which was berthed at Berth 3 in the West Port area of the Yantian International Container Terminal. A small amount of spilled fuel was caused marine pollution and the pier was started an oil spill accident emergency plan for disposal.
According to introduction of the relevant people from the Yantian Maritime Bureau, the drill was dispatched 8 ships, 4 trailers, 2 shore cranes, a fire truck, a self inflatable boom and an oil skimmer. There were more than 70 people participated in this drill. During the simulation, the Yantian International Container Terminal launched an emergency plan for oil spill accidents. The participating units performed procedures in accordance with the police, verification, assessment, containment, and recycling in an orderly manner, focused on the inspection of the risk reporting process, decision-making command, and deployment of the Oil Containment Booms and layout of oil absorbent mats, the onsite operations of oil skimmer and so on.
The relevant people from Yantian Maritime Safety Bureau said that relying on the accumulation of relevant work, such as peacetime emergency drills, Yantian Port area's oil spill response capability has been continuously improved, it was ensured that the amount of dock operations continued to increase while maintaining the excellent ecological environment of green mountains and rivers. The eastern waters of Shenzhen have also become cleaner and cleaner.
