Shenzhen Airport Fuel Terminal Held Offshore Oil Spill Emergency Drill
07/Jun/2018
The Shenzhen Airport Oil Terminal oil spill emergency drill was held in Shenzhen. This drill was simulated a tanker carrying 3,000 tons of aviation kerosene during the berthing of the oil terminal, it was and touched the terminal and then caused aviation kerosene to enter into the sea. Shenzhen Maritime Search and Rescue Center, Bao'an District Emergency Office, Baoan Maritime Bureau and other related emergency units were involved in accident handling.
Shenzhen Airport Fuel Terminal is an important source of aviation fuel for Shenzhen Airport. It supplies more than 1 million tons of aviation fuel annually. The safe transportation of oil tankers relates to the normal operation of Shenzhen Airport. At the same time, due to the volatility and flammability of aviation kerosene, once an oil spill accident occurs, it must be quickly and effectively controlled and absorbed to eliminate the further expansion of the oil spill scope. .
Under the unified deployment of the Shenzhen Maritime Search and Rescue Center, the maritime authorities, terminals, ships, professional cleansing companies and other parties used the contingency plans to lay out oil booms to control surface oils and used oil dispersants and oil-absorbent pads to recover and clean the oil, the simulated accident has been effectively controlled.
Through this exercise, we tested the anti-pollution emergency response system in the western Shenzhen sea area, and improved the organizational command and emergency response capabilities of oil terminals against oil pollution accidents.
