Jiangyin Maritime Bureau conducted a scriptless search and rescue drill

On the morning of May 30th, the Jiangyin Maritime Bureau officially launched the “Hundred Days Safety Production Month” campaign to organize and carry out special search and rescue drill for the Jiangyan section of the Yangtze River during the flood season. The drill was conducted to simulate the ship's anchor collision, and the personnel search and rescue, oil spill control by using oil absorbent mats and oil booms, ship fire and other subjects. On that day, the Jiangyin Maritime Department dispatched 5 sea-watching boats and 1 rescued tugboat. A total of 40 people participated in the drill.
 
The drill was conducted on the “Zhuohang No.5” (140 meters long, 8.5 meters draft, and 13,000 tons of heavy coal) anchored in the No. 15 berthing area. The drill was simulated the anchor and crossed the anchorage area. The collision with the Huangshan ship resulted in the leakage of the ship's fuel tank, the sinking of the ship, the falling of the personnel, and the fire of the ship.
 
At 09:50 a.m., Jiangyin Maritime Bureau received the report that when the “Zhuohang No.5” ship took the anchor at No.15 berthing area, it collided with an anchored yellow sand boat nearby. The yellow sand boat sank and some people fell into the water. The water in the hull of my ship was leaking and there was a fuel leak and. After received the report, Jiangyin Maritime Bureau immediately launched an emergency plan to dispatch rescue teams such as sea patrol boats, tugs, sewerage vessels, salvage vessels, etc. After the relevant leaders received the report, they respectively went to the command hall and the incident site to direct according to the actual requirements, this exercise was conducted in response to dangerous situations, initiation of plans, emergency command and dispatch, rescue team assembly, on-site assistance, and clean-up of oil and other subjects, which lasted two hours and achieved complete success.
