In order to increase the ship's ability of preventing oil spills and emergency treatment Yantai Maritime Safety Bureau and other departments carried out a 300,000-ton crude oil terminal oil spill emergency drill in the West Port area of Yantai Port. The drill was simulated when a 300,000-ton crude oil tanker was carried out the unloading operations; it met quay encountering strong winds, which resulted in more than 20 tons of crude oil leaking into the sea. All departments immediately carried out emergency disposals such as the deployment of oil booms, sea surface oil spill recovery, and oil dispersant spraying, and then they successfully cleared the oil spill on the sea surface.
