Zhoushan Cengang Port Area held a ship collision and oil spill joint emergency drill

At 10 o'clock on the morning of July 19, with the order of the general commander, Zhoushan Cengang Port Area 2018 ship collision and oil spill joint emergency drill was officially kicked off.
 
The drill was simulated due to the failure of the steering gear of an empty tanker "Jiahai 1" from the north of Taoyuanmen., the ship was out of control, and it was collided with the full-load tanker "Tianyou 2" at the pier of Laotangshan Chemical Park which was ready to berth at the gate. The collision was occurred damage of the upper part of the starboard side of the "Tianyou 2" tanker, and about 2 tons of cargo oil was entered into the sea. The water part of the "Jiahai 1" ship was partially damaged, and a crew member on the ship was injured in the head. The other Staffs were safe. After received the report from the ship, the maritime department immediately guided the ship to take measures to stop the leakage and self-rescue, coordinated the relevant cleaning units in the area to clear the pollution by deploying oil booms and laid out oil absorbent pads, and also coordinated the “120” ambulance to pick up the wounded at the terminal of Zhoushan Nahai Oil Wastewater Treatment Co., Ltd. . Eventually the tanker breach was blocked and the spilled oil was cleaned up and the wounded were rescued.
 
The emergency drill was conducted by Dinghai Maritime, Port and Harbor, Agriculture, Forestry and Marine Fisheries Bureau and Zhoushan Port Haitong Wheel Barrier Co., Ltd. and Zhoushan Shihua Crude Oil Terminal Co., Ltd., 14 ports enterprises, “Zhejiang Port Cruise 1102” and “Sea”. 13 ships including Sea Patrol 07339" ship participated. Through the drill, it was effectively improved coordination the search and rescue forces of all parties, and further improved the maritime emergency response ability.
