Shengsi held maritime oil spill emergency response drill

On the morning of September 6, the 2018 Shengsi maritime oil spill emergency response drill was held in the northeastern waters of No. 3 anchorage of Majishan Port Area. There were More than 100 people participated in the drill.
The drill was simulated a two-way ship "Shengyan 1" was collided with an oil tanker "Oil Supply 1" when it sailed through the waters during the berth of No. 3 berthing in the waters of the port. It was caused the fuel tank on the left side of Shengyan 1" was damaged, part of the fuel was leaked, and a crew member on the from "oil supply 1" ship was injured.
After received the police, the Marine Department quickly issued instructions, report the accident to the Municipal Marine Oil Spill Response Center and the County Emergency Linkage Center, then they contacted the 120 Emergency Center, and carried out offshore oil pollution disposal and personnel rescue work in accordance with the maritime oil pollution emergency disposal plan. The Shengsi Maritime Department immediately coordinated the emergency decontamination forces in the jurisdiction to rush to the site. Three clean-up vessels deployed oil booms, threw oil absorbent pads and sprayed oil dispersant, after half an hour in conducting oil spill control and clearing, the maritime oil pollution was cleared effectively. The injured crew was also safely transferred and sent to the ambulance.
"The main purpose in this drill was the ship oil spill plugging, personnel injury assistance, oil booms deploying and oil spill water surface cleanup. The relevant person in charge of the Shengsi Maritime Department said, "The drill was achieved the expected objectives, and the maritime emergency response capability and coordination level between the relevant units in the waters have been strengthened, which will promote the safety of ships, facilities and marine life and property in the waters, and protect the marine environment."
